Options for Getter Chain in Backend Auto Discovery

Looking for assistance as to what options are available to run under the "Getter Chain" to modify what is shown via Backend Automatic Discovery.  For example, if I want to obscure the Database Name somehow, what (if any) functions could I use in the "Getter Chain" instead of "Use it as is" in the configuration?  I would love to be able to use something like the UNIX "tr" command to obscure a hostname or dbname from the front-end AppD GUI.  And if this "Getter Chain" does not apply here, perhaps there is there a handy way to obscure using regular expressions?
