I can answer my own question. I got reply from AppDynamics that they since 2015 support Hystrix. So that is great news :)

Node.js agent installing on Linux - status 403
Hello,
On a Linux (ubuntu 15) environment
using npm version 3.6.0
using npm install appdynamics@4.1.7
or
npm install appdynamics@latest
ends up with "fetch failed" status code 403.
How to install the agent? Thanks.

Just to be sure, are you in production or development mode? We have not seen such behavior in our environment.

Production mode.

Alerts(Events) through AppDynamics Mobile app
Is there a way to set the Mobile Application to show Event in the status bar of the mobile device?
For instance, in New Relic the big advantage of the Mobile Application was that it was the fastest way to be informed about the alert sent by the Policy/Health Rule. Rather than constantly manually checking emails I was informed by sound and status message in mobile status bar that something is going wrong with the system. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the similar ability in App Dynamics. The only possible way is to check emails on regular basis, which is much less useful and not handy nowadays.

PING paid150.saas.appdynamics.com (198.169.195.55) 56(84) bytes of data.
Please help us to check.
Thanks.

Appdynamics Trial: Mandatory fileds for java App in App Agent config-xml
Hi,
I am beginner.
Trying to execute "HelloWorld" App on Tomcat server in an EC2 instance.
Went through many suggestions in this forum but none helped.
Problem:
*App agent log file initially threw "Node and Tier not found" error. now not responding.
*controller always waits for connection.
Tomcat catalina.bat, added-
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -javaagent:D:\Downloads\AppAgent\ver4.2.0.2\javaagent.jar"
Added in jvm param in Eclipse Run config too
"-Djavaagent:D:\Downloads\AppAgent\ver4.2.0.2/javaagent.jar"
Also please tell whether Tier and node are mandatory for trial user?
Here is the config.xml:
<controller-info><controller-host>cgroup82.saas.appdynamics.com</controller-host><controller-port>443</controller-port><controller-ssl-enabled>True</controller-ssl-enabled><application-name /><tier-name /><node-name /><agent-runtime-dir /><enable-orchestration>false</enable-orchestration><account-name>CGroup82</account-name><account-access-key>something</account-access-key><force-agent-registration>false</force-agent-registration></controller-info>
haven't added any ENV_VARIABLES.
Please suggest something so that I can complete my project.
thanks
Re: Appdynamics Trial: Mandatory fileds for java App in App Agent config-xml
Seems there is no support guy to check the post here.
but I got the same problem, from amazone ec2, you cannot get connection to their saas, try to ping or traceroute the domain they assigned, you may see the result.
Re: Node.js agent installing on Linux - status 403
Looks like the problem is that it doens't support node 5.x.x
Checked
npm view appdynamics
Got:
... engines: { node: '>=0.8.0 <=0.12.9' }, ...
Rolled back on
node v0.12.7 and npm 2.11.3
installed ok
Re: Failed to create Controller admin user
I have the same problem installing secondary node on CentOS 7.2. The controller version is 4.2.0.2.

Need help - Not able to locate AppDynamics .net agent config file
Deal All,
I am using AppDynamics 4.0 version. I have configured appDynamics .net agent to monitor few of my IIS hosted web applications. Now I want to monitor one of my windows service. As per below link, I need to modify agent configuration file and need to provide my windows service details inside it. But I am not able to locate the configuration file.
Link I am following -
https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO40/Instrument+Windows+Services+and+Standalone+Applications
I have checked it "C:\Program Files\AppDynamics\AppDynamics .NET Agent", the configuration file is not present there.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

UPDATE: I have updated the root password using the the mysql database using the instructions, but I am still not able to login to the controller.
Thanks

How exactly does the RESOURCE_POOL_LIMIT event work for the JVM?
How exactly does the RESOURCE_POOL_LIMIT event work for the JVM?
I have an ExecutorService in some Java code that I know has exhausted its available threads. I do not see an event in AppDymanics. Also, I know that my DB connection pool to an Azure-SQL database has also been exhausted, but I do not see an AppDynamics event.
How exactly does the RESOURCE_POOL_LIMIT work? Under what conditions will this event be triggered and under what conditions will this event not trigger?

POJO Monitoring - should I configure a Business Transaction or Service Endpoint?
I want to start monitoring a POJO class/method.
I can create a new Business Transaction for the POJO or I can create a new Service Endpoint for the POJO.
Which should I use? Why? I attended the training and read some documentation but I do not understand the difference.
POJO Instrumentation for private methods
Can I define a new POJO based business transaction for private methods? Or must I use public methods?
