Adding the new JMX attribute to the Dahboard
Hi Team,
I want to monitor one of the JMX attibute for all 12 instances in one components and I want to create the JMX attribute in the Dashboard.
I have the limited JXM attributes present for each instances. But I found somehting on the MBean JMX and I want to create the Dashboard for the same.
How Do I add the same attribute which are not existed in web container?

Yet Another how to layout Appd Apps/Tiers/Nodes
We currently use overallapplication-environment-datacenter as our application name. We then break down tiers as parts of the application, like FE web, BE web, FE api, Application servers, Task servers, etc.
We'd like to mix it up a bit and would like to hear from someone else on a better approach. We are multi datacenter including aws with dev, test, and prod environments.
I know there is no cookie cutter, but want to hear what has worked for others.

AppDynamics API for downloads
I'm just starting to delve into the APIs, with an initial interest in automating the download and install of the Java Agent onto a Linux or Solaris host server.
My very early playing around has led me to be able to interrogate the controller to find the schema version....

Multi-app single server for Java applications
Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a way to override App Name or Tier name per deployment in a Java application container, like JBoss EAP for example?
I've noticed that for PHP this concept is supported, Multi-app/Single-server:

Is there a way to do Multi-app/Single-server for Java? Can I drop a magic XML file into my WAR/EAR file that overrides agent settings?
I ask because currently, we deploy multiple separate applications into the same JBoss EAP instance, but we'd like app dynamics to track them separately.

python monitoring, Should register node at startup:false
Hi,
I used controller v4.2 to monitor python application, which running by gunicorn : http://gunicorn.org/
I followed the appdynamic instruction : https://www.appdynamics.com/university/python-monitoring-tutorials/
but nothing happend. The agent couldnt connect to the controller. I went though the proxy log and got this :

the python_node_<pid>.log was empty, while the watchdog.log said, proxy was started with pid
that's all log I got, the application was running fine but i have no idea why the controller didnt get any data.

Re: Multiple applications for one IIS site for .Net agent
Hello,
I'm in the same situation. I' m curently evaluating AppDynamics to monitor all our Websites.
Our main websites (.net) use Sitecore platform, Sitecore works in a multi tenant architecture, therefore we have multiple websites running under the same IIS application pool.
AppDynamics seems to be a great tool (very impressive) but so far, it didn't find a good way to manage this.
I was hoping I missed something in the documentation...
should anyone has more info on how to deal with multi tenant applications, please let me know..

Synthetic monitoring beta for 4.1.8.5

Can you please share the list of agent locations and also i am using version 4.1.8.5 but when i am trying to generate snapshot an error occurs "Internal Error: the request to generate snapshot has timed out".
Please let me know hot to enable synthetic monitoring.

Getting further device information from Browser App dashboard
Hi all,
We're looking to use the data AppD presents us for how customers connect to our web facing applications to drive what browsers we test in and what devices we test on.
I've been looking at the out of the box Browser App Dashboard to give me Browser and Device information. This gives me a good level of information for browsers and I can get a browser version breakdown.
For devices though I'm getting less information. I want to see a deeper device distribution. Currently we have the data that says one of Windows, Android, iPhone, iPad, Mac Linux, or Windows Mobile. What it doesn’t do is show us which Android device, or what ipad version..or what iphone etc.
Is it possible to get this extra breakdown in AppD. If so, how?

there's not much info about the OS

Custom Data to enrich Browser Snapshot (and later Browser Analytics if you

.NET Questions about WCF, HttpClient, Async-Await, Threads
Hi,
i am evaluating for my company a APM solution.
The followinf things did not work OOTB and some other i have questions about.
- I do not see our outgoing WCF calls anywhere. The code is generated from WSDL and the binding is basicHttpBinding. Any ideas?
- Not all outbound calls are catched (only the ones using the older WebRequest)
- HttpClient is not supported?
- CouchBase client needs custom config?
- Redis?
- On a slow transaction the monitoring shows onlty the Thrad.Join on a started thread, missing all the actual work that is done in the thread. Is this expected?
- Is async-await and TPL supported?
- Do i have control over the scaling of custom Performance counter?

I have enable AppDynamics NodeJs Agent for my Appilication.
I am able to see the call graph in AppDynamcis UI for transaction happens. I need to capture the entire call the graph of different pages.
There is no option to export entire call graph from this page.
Help me to export entire call graph of single transactions. Show me the easy way to capture the call graph.
